Bio-Energiser Detox Foot Spa - Treatment and Effects
Bio-Energiser Detox Spa single treatment takes 30 minutes. During the treatment you will notice progressive change in the colour of the water. This is perfectly normal and happens mostly due to electrolytic reaction between metallic array and saline solution (i.e. salty water). You may also see some deposits floating in the water. Abstract:
A device for imparting a
combination of therapies to
a user's body or body parts
has a first battery-powered
array submerged into a
liquid contained in a first
reservoir and a second
battery-powered array
submerged into a liquid
contained in a second
reservoir. Each array has
one or more degradable
electrodes that release ions
into the liquid in the
reservoir. The electrodes
can be copper, zinc, steel,
silver, nickel, or a
combination thereof. The
solution in the reservoir
may contain positively or
negatively charged
medicament ions. During a
therapy session, the device
is operated in one or both
of an electrolysis mode and
an iontophoresis mode.
Direct current is applied to
one or more of the
electrodes depending on the
mode selected and other
session parameters. The
device uses a current and
voltage regulator to deliver
a regulated amount of
current through the arrays
regardless of the
conductivity of the liquid,
and electronic circuitry is
used to control the
duration, polarity,
electrode choice, and
intensity of the treatment.
Excessive heat is dissipated
with a heat sink.
Claims:
1. A therapy device
comprising:a) a first array
comprising a first electrode
and a second electrode;b) a

or more switches configured

claim 2 wherein one or more
of the switches configured
to control the direct
current places the device
in:a) electrolysis mode,
wherein the switch applies
direct current to positively
charge the first electrode
of the first array and
negatively charge the second
electrode of the first
array, causing metal ions to
be released into the first
liquid such that the metal
ions react with chemicals
released from a body part to
form molecules that are not
reabsorbed by the body part;
orb) iontophoresis mode,
wherein the switch:i.
applies direct current to at
least one electrode of the
first array to positively
charge the first array;
andii. applies direct
current to at least one
electrode of the second
array to negatively charge
the second array;such that
charged particles in either
the first or second liquids
are conducted through the
skin of a patient who has
submerged a body part in the
first reservoir and a body
part in the second
reservoir.
4. The device according to
claim 3 wherein a switch
configured to control the
direct current is configured
to reverse the polarity of
each electrode charged by
the direct current in each
mode.
5. The device according to
claim 2 wherein:a) the first
array further comprises a
third electrode and a
conductive attachment
configured to removably
engage the first electrode
and the third electrode;b)
the second array further
comprises a third electrode
and a conductive attachment
configured to removably
engage the first electrode
and the third electrode;
andc) the control box
further comprises a switch
for engaging and disengaging
the conductive attachment of
the first array and the
conductive attachment of the
second array.
6. The device according to
claim 5 wherein at least one
switch configured to control
the direct current enables a
user of the device to choose
whether the direct current
source positively charges
one of the electrodes of the
first array or one of the
electrodes of the second
array in iontophoresis mode.
7. The device according to
claim 5 wherein at least one
switch configured to control
the direct current enables a
user of the device to choose
which electrode of the first
or second array the direct
current source should
positively charge in
iontophoresis mode.
8. The device according to
claim 2 wherein a switch
configured to control the
direct current is configured
to activate and deactivate
the direct current source.
9. The device according to
claim 1 wherein the direct
current source is a battery.
10. The device according to
claim 1 wherein the first
liquid is water.
11. The device according to
claim 1 wherein the first
liquid contains a
medicament.
12. A therapy device
comprising:a) a first array
comprising a first
electrode, a second
electrode, and a third
electrode;b) a first vessel
for containing a first
liquid into which the first
array is substantially
submerged;c) a second array
comprising a first
electrode, a second
electrode, and a third
electrode;d) a second vessel
for containing a second
liquid into which the second
array is substantially
submerged; ande) a direct
current source of more than
50 milliamps but less than 2
amps connected to the first
array and second array;such
that when the direct current
source is applied to the
first electrode of the first
array, metal ions are
generated from the
degradation of the first or
second electrode in the
first liquid to react with
chemicals released from a
body part that has been
submerged in the first
liquid to form molecules
that are not reabsorbed by
the body part; andsuch that
when the direct current
source is applied to the
third electrode of the first
array, charged particles in
either the first or second
liquids are conducted
through the skin of a
patient who has submerged a
body part in the first
reservoir and a body part in
the second reservoir.
13. The device according to
claim 12 wherein:a) in the
first array, the first
electrode comprises steel,
the second electrode
comprises copper, and the
third electrode comprises
silver.
14. The device according to
claim 13 wherein the second
electrode of the first array
further comprises zinc.
15. The device according to
claim 12 wherein:a) in the
second array, the first
electrode comprises steel,
the second electrode
comprises copper and the
third electrode comprises
silver.
16. The device according to
claim 15 wherein the second
electrode of the second
array further comprises
zinc.
17. The device according to
claim 12 wherein the first
and second arrays are
connected to:i. an on/off
switch;ii. a user interface
for selecting parameters of
the therapy;iii. a current
limiter;iv. a switch that
enables the direct current
source to be applied to one
of the electrodes of the
first array or to one of the
electrodes of the second
array; andv. a heat sink.
18. The device according to
claim 17 wherein the direct
current source comprises
more than one battery and
wherein a fuse exists
between the direct current
source and at least the
first array.
19. A therapy device
comprising:a) a first and
second array, each
comprising:i. a base having
one or more apertures;ii. a
cap having one or more
apertures;iii. a first
electrode comprising tubular
stainless steel having a
diameter;iv. a second
electrode comprising a zinc
post having a smaller
diameter than the steel tube
and a copper winding having
a diameter larger than the
steel tube, the zinc post
connected to the copper
winding; andv. a third
electrode comprising a metal
winding having a diameter
equal to or larger than the
copper winding;wherein the
cap, the second winding, the
copper winding, the tubular
stainless steel, and the
base are substantially
concentric around the zinc
post;b) one or more
rechargeable batteries
connected between the first
array and the second array,
each of the batteries
connected to each other in
series with fuses between
adjacent batteries;c) a
first reservoir for
containing a first liquid,
into which the first array
is substantially submerged;d)
a second reservoir for

mode:i. the batteries supply
direct current to positively
charge the first electrode
